Persian Afshar Khamseh, tribal handwoven rug, approximately 5''4.5'' x 3''9'', dating from the early C20th. This loosely woven soft pile rug has a red field with flowers, with ivory coloured central medallion. Indigo blue sprandels and enclosed by multiple repeating narrow borders. A hand knotted rug with longer pile, medium length loosefringes to both ends. The edge selvage has regular tufts. Wool pile and foundations.
A charming rug, in a good condition and very much ready for use.
