Persian Afshar Khamseh Tribal Rug 5'5"X3'9" (164x114.5cm)

1900 - 1920
Description

Persian Afshar Khamseh, tribal handwoven rug, approximately 5'4.5" x 3'9", dating from the early C20th. This loosely woven soft pile rug has a red field with flowers, with ivory coloured central medallion. Indigo blue sprandels and enclosed by multiple repeating narrow borders. A hand knotted rug with longer pile, medium length loosefringes to both ends. The edge selvage has regular tufts. Wool pile and foundations.

A charming rug, in a good condition and very much ready for use.

Dimensions:

This rug measures approximately 164 cm including fringes, and 114.5 cm wide.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in reasonably good condition, commensurate with its age. A good regular shape for a handwoven rug. Nice and clean and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
