Size: 1ft 10in x 1ft 9in (57 x 54cm).

Antique Shahsavan saddle bag face, piled not flatwoven with superb colour.

Circa 1890.

A hard to find Shahsavan saddle bag face in piled technique, most are flatwoven or in soumak work. This example has a diamond lattice design filled with small medallions. The wool and dye quality is outstanding.

The bag face is in excellent original condition with very slight wear and good pile, there is a small area of damage to the side, lower right hand corner.

The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display.
