Walter Delaplaine Scull (1863-1915) was the scion of a wealthy American family who settled in England in the second half of the 19th Century, he was born in Somerset, went to Rugby, Lincoln College Oxford and became a member of Inner Temple - he never practised the Law - rather he followed his passions which were painting and writing. He exhibited 1885-1896.
