Size: 6ft 11in x 3ft 11in (210 x 120cm).

Antique Persian Bijar rug with herati design on an indigo blue ground.

Circa 1900.

The rug has a very rustic feel with a herati design on a very dark abrashed blue ground, the border is red with a traditional Bijar design. The border at the lower end has some pleasing abrash turning to a burnt orange colour. As with most older Bijar weavings this rug is on a wool foundation.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good thick pile.

The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.

The rug is suitable for heavy domestic floor use.
