An antique Caucasian Kazak, handwoven carpet, approximately 9'' x 6''5.5'', dating from the late C19th. This old carpet has a red coloured field with column of triple large blue medallions, enclosed by broad repeating border. A hand knotted soft and flexible carpet with medium pile, selvage to end and fringe to the other. Wool pile and wool foundations.
A charming period rug, well used condition with several quality good repairs, but full of character and still very serviceable. Clean and ready for use.
