Description

An antique Caucasian Kazak, handwoven carpet, approximately 9' x 6'5.5", dating from the late C19th. This old carpet has a red coloured field with column of triple large blue medallions, enclosed by broad repeating border. A hand knotted soft and flexible carpet with medium pile, selvage to end and fringe to the other. Wool pile and wool foundations.

A charming period rug, well used condition with several quality good repairs, but full of character and still very serviceable. Clean and ready for use.

This rug measures approximately 222 cm long including fringes, and 132 cm wide.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in reasonable condition, commensurate with its age. Some wear to the pile, see pictures. Odd minor marks and blemishes. Several good quality old repairs. A reasonably good regular shape for a handwoven rug. Ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
