Description

Woven in Western Anatolia at the end of the 19th century, this is a pretty carpet in an interesting size. The caramel field is decorated with geometric ornaments and stylised leaves in a spacious and pleasing arrangement. The secondary colours include a lovely aquamarine blue which can be seen in the main border, as well as a subtle pink and red. In generally good condition there are some areas of slight wear which give this piece the elusive lived-in look. All wool and natural dyes, there are very pleasant subtle changes of colour across the design which give the carpet an added interest. Clean and ready for immediate use.
