Description

Perepedil is a town in the Eastern Caucasus renowned for weaving fine rugs, notably with a famous rams' horns design. The region changed hands politically on many occasions, and the local weavers changed their repertoire to suit the changing tastes. This piece clearly reveals a Persian aesthetic. Finely woven and with a thin pile, it is a very attractive rug with a lovely colour range and generously drawn repeat 'herati' design. Signs of wear, but in generally good usable condition. This wonderfully rich rug would make an ideal splash of colour and design to your decorative scheme.
