A lovely rare little red antique Sultanabad rug, with an all over ''Herati'' pattern.  Which is a 16th century design which used to show two fish swimming around a water-lily.  Over the centuries it has been stylised to a flower with two leaves around the flower.   Over 100 plus years it has faded and the red dyes have faded, which adds character and depth to the rug.The condition is very good, with a soft and light handle, and an excellent medium high wool pile all over. No old areas of restoration are apparent and it has been washed ready for use on the floor.
