A stunning example of a vintage Art Deco carpet, hand woven in Tianjin, north-east China, circa 1920s with a small medallion surrounded by Chinese motifs on a soft green field and navy blue border with lovely secondary colours of reds and golds. Note the small butterflies in the main field.
Size: 3.65m x 2.74m (12ft x 9ft)
This carpet is in good condition with light, age related wear. Small corner of fringe is missing, otherwise the fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned. A couple of surface marks which are barely visible.
