Description

Some Heriz carpets attempt to emulate workshop carpets while others are closer to their village tradition. This pretty carpet is very much in the village tradition. The hand spun wool is soft and velvety, which is remarkable given its age. Exceptional dyes have produced some lovely colours including the terracotas, yellows, light blues, and a lovely pinky apricot in the borders. The medallion design is strong and feels rustic and archaic. Note the slight abrash in the field colour. Generally in good durable condition, this carpet has great decorative appeal and would work in many settings. Professionally cleaned.
