Inspired by the classical Moghul designs, this striking carpet has great decorative appeal. Rows of diamonds and star forms combine in a repeat design representing the 'Garden of Paradise' or eternal life. The colours are exquisite, an oatmeal background, while the diamonds are a dusty pink with shades of green, gold and sapphire blue used in the details. The main border is equally elegant and complements the field design well. Finely knotted with a thin velvety pile in the classic Amritsar manner. This carpet would work well either in an elegant drawing room, or a dining room, or even in a modern setting with minimalist contemporary furniture where the rich colour and ornamentation of this carpet may transform the space. Cherished through the generations, it has survived in good condition with minimal signs of wear. Clean and ready for immediate use.
