This decorative Heriz carpet from North-West Persia has several attractive features. The size is very good with a slightly wider than usual format. It has an attractive repeat design with large dramatically drawn stylised floral ornaments which makes it feel both very classical yet modern at the same time. The colours are simply exquisite with a lovely soft terracotta providing the background for the field design, and with lots of lovely pale blues, yellows and greens. But perhaps the most attractive feature of this carpet is the border. Spaciously drawn and with lovely floral ornaments, it frames the field so well and gives the carpet an extra dimension. One can imagine that border under a dining table or in a smart drawing room. The carpet has some old restoration which was professionally undertaken. But it still retains the feeling of a carpet worn nicely through time. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use..
