Description

Jaf Kurd weavings are known for their exceptional wool and the intensity of their dyes. This example fits the bill well. The wool quality is exceptional, and the range of colours is brilliant. Note the subtle shades of and pale blue as well as the striking amber. The clever use of undyed ivory wool brightens the composition. Although the field design of repeating diamonds with latchhooks is common, the borders, in particular the inner ivory guard stripe is quite unusual. The original flatwoven ends are intact as are the selvages. Good pile with minimal repair. Professionally cleaned. This lovely colourful item would work equally well on the floor or wall or even as a decorative item on furniture.
