Description

This is a fine antique Kashan prayer rug dating from around 1930. The carpet is really finely drawn and has much beautiful detail to the design, the deep indigo field issuing flowers above a pretty floral medallion and a hanging lamp above framed by floral spandrels. The deep borders of flowering vines are flanked by carnation guard stripes. Woven in soft fine wool, the carpet features soft blues, corals and pinks and is absolutely filled with flowers, vines, foliage and trees.

This measures 210 cms by 132 cms and is in great condition for its age with only a little wear to the fringes.
