Good Antique Mazlaghan Rug Carpet

Description

This is a very good example of a Mazlaghan carpet from the late 19th century with a great look. The carpet, from West Iran, has a very visually pleasing design and a great colour palette. The madder red field of stylised plants is centred by a serrated medallion and enclosed by triple narrow borders. One end of the carpet has minor losses to the fringe. The condition overall is really good with the carpet having a good deep pile and no worn areas.
