An outstanding antique Qashqai rug, handwoven by the eponymous nomadic tribe circa 1900 with a 3 medallion design on a dark indigo field and great secondary colours. Very finely woven and, unusually for a tribal rug, the wefts are silk. Note the stylised Botehs in the four corners of the field.
Size: 1.47m x 1.04m (4ft 10in x 3ft 5in)
This rug is in good condition with moderate even wear, slightly heavier in places. A few small old repairs to border (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
