A very rare white field Ziegler & co workshop carpet with enlarged flowering cartoons of ''Shah Abbas'' palmettes and blossoms connected by flowering vines. Varying blues, greens in the border of stylised leaf and flower work, all in exceptional natural colours of white, ivory, red, sky blue, royal blue, tan, beige, gold and rose. The floral medallion is both striking and beautiful with an open background field and glorious subtle corner spandrels in the main field. In unbelievable high pile throughout, an extraordinary collectable example, in near perfect order.
