The angle of the mirror can be adjusted by turning the thumbscrews. The mirror is supported by a pair of finely carved pierced fretwork arm supports above a bank of three small breakfront drawers and breakfront table-top. The dressing table stands on two pedestals incorporating four graduated drawers each; decorated with cock-beaded drawer fronts and the original ribbon carved handles. The drawer linings are constructed of solid mahogany with hand dove-tailed construction and quarter beading (sign of quality). The drawers in each pedestal retain their original working locks (with key). The dressing table rests on the original moulded plinths and retains the original brass castors. The item retains the original backboards to the base and mirror. The mirror and carved arm supports can be dismounted for easy storage and transportation.

Condition Report:
This dressing table is in excellent original condition, having been cleaned and French polished by hand in in our workshop, therefore the finish, colour and patination is of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no marks, stains or scratches to the tops of the pedestal table-top. The mirror, which is the original mirror, is in good original condition, with some signs of foxing (see photos). In our opinion the foxing is acceptable and add to the originality of the whole piece, considering it’s a Victorian mirror and over 150 years old. However, if you want the glass replacing for a new mirror, please contact us for a quote. The drawers close flush to the frame and they also retain their original ribbon carved handles and working locks. There are some old use marks to the drawer bottoms (see photos) but nothing significant. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
