Description

This is an antique Kazak carpet from Central Caucasus dating from around 1900. The carpet has great visual appeal with a very eye catching design and a striking colour palette. It has a crimson red ground with a central panel having two hooked guls and a double niche field. The carpet features charming figures throughout depicting a married couple, as these were often woven as a wedding rug. The carpet features some wonderful abrashing to the blue shade and has pretty borders. It is in excellent condition with a good even pile and it measures 210 cms x 127 cms.
