Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Early nineteenth-century English ceramic water jugs, such as those produced by Spode, reflect the Regency and William IV eras. They often feature classical motifs, floral patterns, and detailed transfer printing combined with hand-applied coloured enamels.

These vessels were typically crafted from fine earthenware or bone china. Patterns were applied using underglaze transfer printing techniques, often enhanced with overglaze polychrome hand-painting and clear lead glazing.

Authentic pieces from this period often bear impressed or printed maker marks on the underside, such as Spode or pattern numbers. Additionally, period-appropriate age crazing, foot rim wear, and specific paste weight help verify authenticity.

A large ceramic jug can serve as a focal centerpiece on a sideboard, console table, or mantelpiece. It can be displayed independently as a decorative object or styled with dried foliage and floral arrangements.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges. Never place antique ceramics in a dishwasher or submerge pieces with existing hairline cracks in water.
