Aaron Nejad Carpets and Rugs has dated this piece to the 1900s.
This pretty rug was made in a village setting. The garden design seen of this piece is ubiquitous in Baktiar weavings. However, this piece is a particularly nice example and has a very nicely drawn range of trees and shrubs in each panel, framed by a very unusual border. The wool and dyes are of a high quality and the workmanship has the hallmarks of good Baktiari weaving. In good condition, and recently professionally cleaned.
