Nain rugs are noted for their fine Kurk wool and the quality of the workmanship. The weavings of the nearby town of Tudesh which started weaving rugs in the 1920s are considered to be highly prized. This piece is extremely charming. The abrashed light blue field is attractive and the repeat Herati design has been rendered beautifully. Note the lovely size. This piece has been cherished over the generations and has survived in very good condition. The pile is even and velvety. The ends are selvages are original and intact. Professionally cleaned.
