Description:
A Dutch pewter Angel flagon, known as ''Engelenkan'' in Holland, probably from the town of Maastricht, circa 1720. The flagon has a large bulbous body with a flat lid with a solid erect thumbpiece cast with a relief of an angel''s head; hence the name angel flagon. There is a partial touch mark to the base.
Note: A similar example is published in Van tin gegoten, uittin genoten, page 218, item number 173.
Condition:
Excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish and some very small traces of light oxide.
Repairs: There are no repairs that I could detect.
Size:
Height to top of finial: 11.00 in (28.50cm).
