Designed with an elegant bow front shape, the top is decorated with cross banding and satinwood & boxwood string inlay. Below is a bank of three graduated drawers. The drawers are oak lined and hand dovetailed, with quarter beaded interiors (a sign of quality) and cock beaded fronts. Featuring period replacement oval brass handles and escutcheons, the drawer retains their original working locks, with working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. The chest stands on the original well shaped mahogany splayed bracket feet. The back of the chest features the original pine back boards. The chest has been cleaned and traditionally French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the patination and colour of an excellent standard.
