Description

Melayir is a town in West Persia where carpet weaving has existed for centuries This piece has the classic Melayir structure with a thin fine weave, low-clipped pile. and a grainy texture. The design is fine with repeating jewel-like ornaments. Note the lovely green border, a very old natural dye. This is a very pretty and decorative rug in a good size. Minor repair to one end, otherwise in very good condition.
