A rich deep red tribal antique Ersari kelleh, woven by the Ersari tribe of Central Asia. Repeating large Gul design all over this long Kelleh carpet. The Ersari tribe were a large Turkmen group with many subdivisions, some who settled in the Oxus river valley which runs through Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the seventeenth century.
In general the condition is good, with minimal low pile in places. Dating from around circa 1900, this antique tribal carpet would sit well on a wooden floor, sisal or fitted carpet with our expert underlay.
