Pretty Antique Caucasian Rug, 1.55m X 1.28m

Description

Caucasian rugs have great variety in both their designs and their weaving techniques. This fine rug has a thin pile with soft velvety wool. It has the very striking Perepedil design with ram's horns which was deployed widely across the Caucasus and which has ancient origins. Here it appears in this Shirvan area workshop rug. Pretty colours and very good condition, retaining the macrame ends. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use.
