With so many cultural influences that have passed through the region, Caucasian rugs often have a very individual character. This piece is no exception. Woven in the Gendje district, this is a colourful example with a striking design of diagonal stripes radiating from a central axis. Note the charming borders. It is also a good size for either the wall or floor. This is a very decorative rug from the 19th century. It has survived the generations in very good condition and has recently been professionally cleaned.
