Description

This is a very nice example of a Kashkuli Kashgai carpet dating from the late 19th Century. Kashkuli rugs are a more fine version of the well known Kashgai carpet; the wool is finer and the weave tighter resulting in a more knots per inch in the weave. This carpet has typical attractive kashgai colours and a triple diamond lozenge design with lots of fine detail to the stylised flower filled field. The carpet is in good order for its age with a low even pile and some wear to the ends. This measures 230 cms by 150 cms.
