Description

This is a fabulous quality finely woven large silk Kashan carpet dating from around 1930.

The carpet is a very fine example of weaving craftsmanship with a beautifully well drawn design and a really attractive colour palette. With a central elaborate diamond shaped medallion in warm coral and duck egg blue set within a polychrome flower filled ivory field, the carpet also uses the warm coral to great effect in the deep floral borders and spandrels.

Altogether a stunning silk carpet which is very pleasing to the eye, it is in excellent condition throughout and is of a very good scale, measuring 254 cms x 170 cms including its fringes.
