Probably woven in the city of Isfahan circa 1900 - 1910. This rug has many outstanding features. It is finely knotted to a very high standard and is quite beautiful in both its colouring and design. Note the gentle abrash in terracotta field. However the most impressive aspect of the rug is the exceptional wool quality, probably lambs wool which gives the rug a very luxurious texture. Cherished through the generations, it has survived in very good condition with no wear on repairs. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use. This is a rug for the connoisseur of Persian art.
