This is a very fine and elegant Persian rug from Isfahan dating to the end of the 19th century. Very high wool quality and great dyes. The pile is fine and even, clipped low, and the classical medallion and spandrels design has been elegantly drawn. Note the charmingly playful border. This rug has survived the generations in excellent condition. It has a velvety luxurious texture which has been enhanced since cleaning. A really exceptional Persian rug for the collector of homeowner.
