Size: 6ft 8in x 4ft 4in (203 x 133cm).

Antique Persian Mohtasham Kashan rug of outstanding design and colour.

Circa 1890.

This is a very finely woven rug from the workshops of the master weaver Mohtasham, the rug is made using 'Kork' wool, this is the finest lambs wool. The rug has a small single medallion design, woven in a reds and blues. The classic border design is on a dark indigo blue that contrasts well with the rug. The sides of the rug are bound in crimson/purple silk.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

A beautiful antique rug that would grace any room and sit alongside the finest antique furniture. A classic antique rug of the highest quality.
