A finely woven antique Mahal carpet dating from circa 1900-1910, full of gorgeous muted reds, blues and yellow tones.  A classical all over ''Herati'' design can be seen on this decorative carpet from Persia.  The ''Herati'' or ''Mahi'' pattern is an ancient design, which used to resemble two fish swimming around a water-lily in very early carpets, it can been seen more frequently on 19th and 20th Century carpets as two leaves around a floral rosette.In general the condition is good, though the carpet does have scattered low pile in some areas.
