Antique Malayer Carpet Runner

Description

This is a beautiful woollen, hand woven 19th century Malayer runner. The runner has a delightful warm colour palette to the all over stylised floral design. The condition of the carpet is very good with a good pile and colour strength in a nice soft lustrous wool. It has however at some point been halved and later rejoined across the centre. This has been well done and is not apparent without close scrutiny. It can be just made out at the top of photo 5.

This is a good size measuring 3 and a half metres in length by 72 cms wide.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
