Here is a rug with great character. Woven in the western Caucasus around 1880, it has many of the most attractive features of Kazak rugs. Fine wool quality, and vibrant natural dyes. The design is so striking and graphic, and would lend itself to being used on the wall as well as on the floor. there are some scattered signs of use and old repair give it a 'lived-in' in charm. Lots of interesting geometric ornaments and intriguing motifs. This rug is both collectible and decorative.
