Description

This Persian Baktiari rug dates to around 1910, and has an interesting version of the lozenge design. The panels are neither squares nor diamonds, but are rather more stepped in the outline of their designs. The colours are very happy and pretty, in particular a very striking ivory main border. Interesting square shape. Note the ubiquitous cypress trees in the field. This is a delightful Persian village full of vitality and charm. Good overall condition, clean and ready for immediate use.
