A rare silk Kashan Souf rug, handwoven circa 1930 on an ivory field and stunning secondary colours. The term ‘Souf’ refers to a carpet that has both flat woven and pile areas, in this case in silk, giving the design a raised appearance.
Size: 1.57m x 1.04m (5ft 2in x 3ft 5in)
This rug is in good condition with light age related wear which is slightly visible on the ivory field (see photos). The fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
