Description

Karabagh is an enclave in the Western Caucasus which was populated by Armenians, some of the best weavers in the East. This rug is from a well-known group with a very recognisable design, the so-called memling gul.. It is an excellent example. The design on an ivory ground is crisply drawn. It has great wool, wonderful dyes and is in excellent original condition. The pile is very good, and there are no repairs. it retains its original selvages and braided ends. Ready for immediate use.
