Description

Size: 2ft 9in x 1ft 7in (83 x 47cm).

Antique Baluch or Timuri balisht face, balisht were storage bags used to keep either grain or personal belongings in.

Circa 1880.

The bag face is piled with camel wool, and has a classic tree of life design. The border is in a deep madder with indigo blue, the blue comes to life in sunlight. The top of the balisht retains the original flat woven panel decorated with fine weft work. This is a good collectable display item.

The bag face is in very good condition with slight even wear and good pile, there is some corrosion to the browns. The bag face is of fine weave with very soft wool and no repairs.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.
