Antique Caucasian Shirvan long rug with Memling gul design, dated 1855..
Dated 1271 which is 1855.
The dye quality and range of colours is really superb and demonstrate Caucasian weaving of the highest quality. The rug is framed by an ivory ground Kufic border which contains the date panel. There are also two human figures in the lower left hand side of the border.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and almost full pile, the rug retains a small original kilim end finish at both ends. The rug is in original condition with no re-weaving.
A scarce dated Shirvan rug in outstanding condition suitable for adding to any collection.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
