Athenienne Vide Poches By Barbedienne

Very fine quality and larger than usual pair of Grand Tour patinated and gilt bronze Neoclassical tazzas or ''vide poches'' by Barbedienne, after the antique. Often referred to as Athéniennes, they are inspired by the Greek caryatids of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis in Athens. Stamped ''F. Barbedienne Fondeur'' with the Reduction Merchanique seal of Achille Collas on the reverse. French, circa 1870.
