Antique Kurdish Khorjin Saddle Bag, Outstanding Original Condition, Circa 1900.

1900 - 1920
Description

Size: 3ft 7in x 1ft 7in (108 x 49cm).

Antique Kurdish Khorjin (saddle bags) with striped plain weave back.

Circa 1900.

The saddle bag faces are very well drawn with latch hook medallions in a diamond lattice, the style is similar to that found on Jaf Kurd bag faces. The border is a floral design on a yellow ground. The bags retain the closing lappets and decorative chevron design central panel. The plain weave back has a striped design.

The Khorjin is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and good full pile to the faces.

The Khorjin has been hand washed and is ready for display.
