Description

This chunky storage bag was originally used as a cushion or pillow and was woven by the Belouchi tribe in Southern Afghanistan. It has wonderful wool quality and has survived in excellent condition, retaining its high pile, and even the original back. The field design is interesting, as the so-called Memling gul which appears in the field is normally associated with Caucasian weavings. The warm colours are ideal for decoration around the home. This is a very nice tribal weaving.
