Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Hamadan rugs are traditional Persian carpets woven by villagers and nomads in and around the historic city of Hamadan in western Iran, known for durable structures and varied geometric or floral motifs.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-spun wool pile woven onto a cotton or wool foundation, utilising natural vegetable dyes for rich tones such as indigo and madder red.

Key indicators include irregularities in hand-knotting, natural abrash colour variations in the wool, traditional village motifs, and the presence of sturdy selvages and original flatweave ends.

Layering the rug over larger natural fibre flooring or placing it on wooden floorboards provides textural contrast, grounding contemporary furniture with heritage character.

Protect the textile by avoiding direct sunlight, using a specialist breathable underlay, and vacuuming gently without a rotating brush bar alongside professional cleaning when required.
