Antique Hamadan Rug

1900 - 1920
Description

Bright pale blues, royal blues and subtle gold tones balance well with the deep burgundy background colour. Wonderful floral motifs and ancient cloud band symbols on this beautiful antique Hamadan rug.  Original ends and good subtle colours and an excellent full height soft wool pile.  Ideal for an entrance hall or landing, on a wood floor we always supply excellent rug underlay which stops a rug from slipping included in the price.

Hamadan is located in the west of Persia and the city was a centre for trading and weaving carpets, hundreds of villages surround Hamadan which produced various designs and qualities of rugs.
