Antique Turkish Village prayer rug from the Menderes river valley, South West Anatolia.
Late 18th century.
The rug has very soft wool and a very floppy handle.
The floral border design is very attractive.

The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile, there are losses to the sides and ends and some damage to the field. The rug has been professionally conserved and mounted on ivory linen.
The rug has been hand washed and would make a superb wall hanging.
This is a good collectible rug of a small well documented scarce group.
