Size: 13ft 1inx 5ft 7in (398 x 170cm).

Antique Luri tribal Long rug / kelleh in outstanding condition with classic design.

Circa 1900.

This rug is an excellent example of Luri tribal weaving, with a field of three latch hook medallions. The medallions are filled with rosettes and other tribal devices, the indigo blue field contains many floral rosettes and tribal designs. The border designs with large boteh are typical of Luri work. The rug retains the checkerboard panels at both ends. The rug has excellent warm colours.

The rug has even wear with medium pile, the wool quality and colours are outstanding. The rug is also of a very useful large country house hall way size.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
