Description

This pretty carpet was probably made in the Kiev district in the last quarter of the 19th century.The elements of the field are beautifully spaced, while the ivory border with the random drawing of the flowers is very playful. The weave displays the technique of a master weaver with subtle nuances in the colours which give the design a three-dimensional feeling. Note also the larger than average size, and the squarish format, and one begins to realise that this is a special carpet. In good condition.
