Antique Caucasian Shirvan rug of the classic linked medallion design.

Circa 1890.

A good example of the classic Shirvan triple linked medallion design, the three serrated edge hexagonal medallions have smaller hexagons to the center. The rug has excellent colour with the medallions standing out on the dark indigo field. The main border is of a design that is typical of Shirvan weaving.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. A visually striking rug.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
