Description

Size: 6ft 5in x 3ft 8in (196 x 112cm).

Old Afghan rug with Ersari Turkmen ensi inspired design.

Circa 1920/30.

This is a superbly made afghan rug, very firm dense weave with outstanding colour. The design is that of a Ersari Turkmen Ensi (door hanging), these were hung at the entrance to the yurt.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and full pile. There are one or two very minor spots of wear that are finger tip size.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.

The rug is suitable for heavy domestic use.
